Custom EFS Development Policy
We are no longer processing individual requests for custom eSignal Formula Scripts (EFS) or studies. Towards the end of March 2003, we shifted the way we support EFS requests. While we were very happy to initially help individual users with their formula requests, the demand grew increasingly difficult to manage. The updated policy for EFS requests is outlined below and will be displayed for all new and existing customers.
When we introduced version 7.0 and EFS, our goal was to create a set of tools for users to utilize and write custom formulas on their own. Since not all customers are comfortable writing code or even using a tool like the Formula Wizard, we've been trying to help as many people as we could. In addition, we had a lot of feedback that our EFS documentation was scattered and incomplete. We've addressed that issue with the introduction of this EFS KnowledgeBase so all our EFS help documentation can be found in one place.
We have established a group EFS Consultants for those users who are in need of contracting professional programming help. To further help, we're still actively participating on eSignal Central and doing all we can to promote a lively and helpful community for all users.
Since EFS is such a powerful tool and the customization is potentially endless, we are now dedicating our internal resources to developing more EFS documentation, help guides, implementing popular study requests, adding new features and troubleshooting coding errors.
If you are looking for a specific study or are looking for a custom EFS, we can certainly help point you in the right direction. You have lots of options to consider. Please review the following resources.

Edit existing EFS
If you find the study or something close to it, keep in mind that many of the formulas have parameters that you can set or you can use the EFS Editor to make changes (On eSignal Toolbar, click Tools, then Editor). All of the information you need to learn more about writing formulas with EFS can be found here in the EFS KnowledgeBase.
Ask other users

Do it yourself
If you have just a little programming background or have constructed technical indicators in the past, you should find working with EFS fairly straightforward. Here are the key resources for learning all about EFS and programming your own custom indicators.
- Start here in the EFS KnowledgeBase to find everything you ever needed to know about EFS, including study guides, reference glossaries and examples.
- Use the eSignal Formula Wizard. The Formula Wizard is designed to allow the non-programmer and, those who do not want to learn EFS, the ability to create customized formulas that use eSignal's built-in studies. You can find this tool in eSignal under the Tools menu. For instructions, please review the Formula Wizard Guide here in the EFS KnowledgeBase.
- If you need a little help to get started or are just stuck somewhere, don't forget about using the eSignal Central EFS Forums. In addition to other users, eSignal personnel monitor the boards and help wherever they can.
Hire an EFS Consultant
